Look, the internet is vast and a lot of information fly by us every single day. This may sound like something cool, of course, you are a simple search away from knowing everything you want to know.
But guess what?
There is a dark side to it, and it is not even information overload; it is in the people you are actually listening to.
Let me tell you a story.
When I started my journey in the internet marketing space, I read everything I could read; from copywriting to traffic generation to conversion mastery. Whatever it was, I would look for people who are ‘successful’ or ‘self-acclaimed successes’ and I would buy their courses, subscribe to their email list, and read their blogs.
No, this in itself is a great step. What wasn’t great was the fact that I would buy several courses on the same subject from different people.
Soon, I had a hard drive filled with courses I couldn’t use, a head filled with information I couldn’t process, and a mind clogged with so much confusion that kept me grounded for a very long time.
What do you think was the problem?
You guessed right! Information overload. But more importantly, the problem was that, I listened to too many people.
This is the dark side to learning online – just like everybody has a different approach to life, everybody has a different approach to teaching what they know. Some are damn good at it, but others are copycats and are there to complicate something that is indeed very simple.
What is the solution?
Stop listening to everybody. Pick one person in a particular field, say Traffic Generation. Get their resources, master them and stop listening to everybody else until you have seen a significant result with what you learnt from that one person.
This, my friend, will save you years of toiling online, stop wasting your hard-earned resources, and increase your results drastically.
I know what you are thinking – now, how do I know who to follow or the best courses or tools to buy?
